In his youth, the Rough-riding president was a rancher
in the West. And when he visited northern Wyoming in those days, he was in the habit of
staying at The Occidental Hotel. Then and later, The Occidental was the finest hotel
in Buffalo, known far and wide for its comfortable and elegant rooms.
The Roosevelt Suite carries on that tradition of
elegance. The bedroom features a handsome high-backed Victorian Walnut bed (original
to the hotel), with a superb Queen mattress. The view from the west window is of
ancient leafy cottonwoods in summer, and of the majestic Bighorn peaks in winter.
A separate sitting room offers a spacious and relaxed
setting for reading and relaxed conversation, and an antique desk for writing
letters. The bathroom is a Victorian gem, with a large clawfoot tub and restored
period decor. |
